Having trouble logging in to lylealumni.com?
We are sorry that you are having trouble logging in. lylealumni.com wants everyone to be able to use the website, regardless of their level of computer literacy. There are no known bugs with this website related to logging in, but there are some things out of our control that may affect your usage of the site.
Below are common problems that people have had and some possible solutions. Please give them a try and if you are still having trouble, send an email to lyle_alumni_admin (@lylealumni.com) and we will try to address your problem in a timely manner. Thanks again for contributing to lylealumni.com!
I try to login with the correct username and password but I keep getting messages telling me to please log in!
Please try these tips in order:
- Check your username and password again. I know you've checked it already, but give it one last check. Are you sure that you didn't change your password in the meantime? Are you using the same email you signed up with? Both username and password are case sensitive and you must enter them exactly as you receive them. This means that "abc" is not the same as "aBc". If you are still in doubt, use the Lost Password menu option to generate a new password.
- If you have other family members that are Lyle Alumni, ask one of them to try to login with their own username and password on the same machine you are having trouble with. If it works for them but not for you, it's very likely you are using the wrong username and password. If it doesn't work for either of you, it could be either a problem with your machine, or a problem with the lylealumni.com
- Try to login in from a different machine. Try it at a friend's house, at work or at the public library. If you don't have problems on the other machine, then it's likely a problem with the configuration of your home computer.
- If you have determined that it is a problem with your home machine, please check these items:
- Try rebooting your machine (yes, I know it's a lame suggestion, but depending on the nature of your problem it might work)
- Do you have cookies enabled? If you don't know what this is, then you probably don't need to worry about it. lylealumni.com requires the use of cookies.
- Try emptying your browser cache and clearing all cookies. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, try this:
- Choose "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu
- Click on the "General" tab and look at the "Temporary Internet Files" section
- Click on the "Delete Cookies" button
- Click on the "Delete Files" button
If you are using Mozilla Firefox, try this:
- Choose "Options" from the "Tools" menu
- Select "Privacy"
- Click on the "Cookies" tab and press the "Clear Cookies Now" button
- Click on the "Cache" tab and press the "Clear Cache Now" button
If you are using some other browser, you'll have to figure it out for yourself, or email lyle_alumni_admin and we can try to help.
- If you are still having problems, ask lyle_alumni_admin (@lylealumni.com) for help.
I didn't receive my password via email
Some people have overly-aggressive spam filters that filter out emails that are sent automatically. Try checking your spam or junk mail folders and see if you have any email from lyle_alumni_admin or mitch (both @lylealumni.com). All emails you receive from the website will come from one of those addresses. You might try adding them to your address book to help prevent them from being spam-filtered.
Try using the Lost Password menu option to have a new password sent to you. If you continue to have trouble, send email to lyle_alumni_admin (@lylealumni.com) and we cen generate a new password for you and personally email it to you.
